Understanding the 1.5 HP Balboa DuraJet (Cascade) Hot Tub Pump

1.5 HP Balboa DuraJet (Cascade) Hot Tub Pump is a highly efficient system, able to meet and exceed the strictest level of municipal noise requirements. It’s considered as a replacement for common 1.5 HP 120 volt side discharge pumps using 2” unions. 

This Balboa pump is a 2-speed pump and can be used as a replacement for any single one speed 1.5 HP pump (120 VAC). The backside of the motor is well-equipped to install a Tecmark air switch if needed. This pump can be used with older simple air-switch controls or can be wired directly to the pump receptacles of the spa. It comes with safety features including auto overheat shut off protection. 

The DuraJet hot tub pump comes complete with two 2” replacement unions. It features a drain plug that makes sure that there is no water left in the pump body during storage. This becomes useful for hygienic reasons and prevents the system from freeze damage. All DuraJet pumps have discharge and suction nipples that ensure a side stream flow for such purposes as an Ozonator venture. If your hot tub uses these nipples, they need to be drilled out first on the new replacement pump before they become active. 

This hot tub pump unit is available with a two-year manufacturer warranty that covers both the pump and the motor. For example, if the pump fails to work during this period, you’ll be provided with the replacement and you may need to return the defective pump.
